My Pink ASICS

First and foremost, I am sad that the king of pop died today. I know every blogger in the universe is blogging about this, but I also had to pay tribute to his name. I remember when I was ten years old all I wanted was my dad to take me to the store so I could buy my first Michael Jackson CD! I couldn't get his songs out of my head. Remember, Heal the World? That was my fave!! Rest in peace king of pop.

That being said, um, I want to introduce you to my new friends. Drum roll please!! Introducing my new pink friends, by ASICS.

I finally splurged and got a second pair of these grand shoes. I really wanted a pink pair, in particular to encourage me to run more! These shoes are great. They are uber comfortable and fashionable at the same time. Yay!

I went to my apartment gym and surrounding areas this morning and had to snap a few photos on my camera phone to give you an idea. ASICS are wonderful for many reasons, beginning with...

They look amazing near flowers, which means you might be able to wear them with a cute pair of jeans and cute shirt, right?

ASICS also can be used to go jogging by the beach. Be careful that you don't get sand all over them though! They need to stay pretty. Or at least I would be concerned and would try to keep them pretty. He he.

ASICS are great on treadmills. You never run out of energy! One should hope not anyway.

You can use ASICS to go hiking and you can be in style at the same time! How exciting!!

Wait...these ASICS still haven't run out of steam. They work great for running up and down stairs. Yes, I do this for exercise. Have you tried the Santa Monica steps? 70 or more steps up and down, up and down. Nope, not joking, but great exercise! I used to do this when I had a class near by in Santa Monica, but I miss them! Oh how my new shoes would do so great with endurance on them!

ASICS also work perfectly on the elliptical. I have to be careful with this machine because it is so comfortable that I forget to run some days because the elliptical can be my easy workout escape route!

Not done yet...ASICS are perfect when lifting weights. Seriously.

When doing squats...Okay, that is when my leg is coming up while doing sqauts. Oh, and yes, that is my tattoo too. It matches! :) I know, I am a dork, ok?

I think my ASICS are done for the day. They found a comfortable spot near my Women's Fitness magazine.

I feel a tad guilty for spending over $100 on these shoes, but it was so worth it! Now I feel more motivated to work out. After all, these beauties allow girls like us to be in style, all the while trying to attain a nice beach bod.

Be a Beach Babe with Billabong

So last night I went to Balboa Beach for my first bonfire of the summer. It was quite the success and I had such a good time! I definitely am full of smores, but they were sooo good! I also got into a marshmallow fight with my guy friends. Yes, I admit, I was the one to start it. I had so much energy after all of that sugar! Here a couple of pics from last night. Singing and sitting around the fire and watching High School students climb up a pole near by were also highlights of the evening. Ha ha.

With all of my recent travels to the beach, I've really been in the mood to search for bright, fun, and comfortable beach clothing. When I moved to California 6 years ago I immediately began spotting, recognizing, and in return loving all of the beach brand names. One brand name in particular, Billabong, is a brand name I quickly fell in love with. I am one to wear bright and vibrant colors because it makes me feel happy, confident, and ready to hit the beach at any time. So last night when I got back from my bonfire, I opened a fun gift from my mom that I had received. She sent me a bunch of clothing and accessories from Maui! Yay! In the gifts included a lovely tie dye dress, made by Billabong. I'll wear it soon and put a picture on here soon for you all can see.

Anyway, so tonight I have been exploring on the web on the Billabong site because I wanted to see more of this beach wear. I love it!! It's so bright and colorful. So fun.

But....not only did I come across some lovely outfits, I found out that Billabong has a nonprofit organization event that they do once a year in Hollywood. The proceeds for the concert and fashion show goes to help create new and improved water for people in third world countries, which I found to be very rad. Here's the site for you to check it out, which is called Design For Humanity. I was super bummed that I missed it by a short week! I'll have to try and go next year. What a great way to raise money, and to see all of the new styles that are coming out as well!

I am by no means a surfer. I want to learn, but I think I would suck. I can see myself stumbling and hitting my head on coral. Ha ha, I went with Big Kiddo once in the ocean and got sucked down by a huge wave! Awww, but that is a story for another day. Anyway, I find these pictures to be eye candy and fun to wear at the beach, all from Billabong. Also check out Pac Sun for some of the other styles below, including the black and white dress. Enjoy ocean darlings...

Oh, and since I am an advertising sales representative in my day time job, I found Billabong's ads to be not only artistic, but eye catching and so bright and colorful! It makes me want to go the beach right now.

Oh, and even if some of your ladies don't live by the beach, which I know some of you don't, you can still rock Billabong! You can be a beautiful lady on a hott summer day in your yard, at a concert, or wherever these fierce and artistic colors of delight take you!
