Moccasins...In or Out?

So I thought today I would explore a little bit of fashion to break up all of my sappy romance. Thanks so much for your thoughtful comments, they always mean so much to me. And yes, for those of you who are wondering, I am still on cloud number 9! Seriously!

So...lately I have felt a little bit of cool in the air in Southern CA, finally! Our seasons tend to run together so I will take whatever cool air I can get. It is hilarious though because as soon as you get a hint of cool air here I immediately see girls break out the winter coats and boots. Meanwhile it is 40 or 50 degrees {soon to be 30} in Utah or Montana, ha! Being originally from Utah I just have to laugh but at the same time I too am guilty and I do the same thing! I embrace the slight cool air just because I want seasons I can claim.

I feel like because I have the beautiful ocean I have to sacrifice my seasons...I'm not complaining but I do miss the snow! I guess that is why I have the cabin to visit now, yay! :)

Since I am claiming this cool air, especially after the sun sets by the ocean {oh believe me it gets chilly by the ocean}, I want to start searching for some new boots to wear. Which leads me to moccasin boots...what do you think about them?

Do you think they are in style this season or not?

Do you like moccasin boots, or do you think that they are waaaay last season? Sorry, had to bring out the OC girl in me. Just kidding!

I am thinking of getting some moccasin boots because they are comfortable, fun, flirty, and they keep you warm at the same time.

I recently went to see Colbie Callait in concert and she wore lace up moccasins, I need to post those pictures. I am a bit behind!

Well, let me introduce you to some of these beauties...

Minnentonka moccasins

ankle high moccasins, found at

Free People

Free People Prairie boots

Beklina moccasins

Jessica Simpson Mocca flat

Stock moccasins

Kate Moss is trying to pull them off. Do you think she did it?

Lauren Conrad in moccasins

Misha Barton, but yucky outfit!

Olsen twins Bess moccasins

So what do you all think? Should I get a pair, or just stick with cute boots?

Hope you have a lovely day Ocean Dreamers, XOXO!

Farewell My Orry Main

Happy Thursday Ocean Dreamers!

Whew, this week has been absolutely crazy for me! Monday and Tuesday night I had my classes and last night I went to Colbie Caillat's concert at the House of Blues, it was ammmaaazzzing! I will be posting pictures this weekend when I have internet access at my home, so stay tuned! :)

So our server at work freaked out so I wasn't able to get on the internet that much since Monday. I think I am going through Blogger withdrawals! I usually do my blogging late at night and Starbucks doesn't stay opened that late! So...I will be seriously celebrating next week when the internet is {hopefully} up and running at my apartment again! I can catch up on all of your blogs more! :)

So...a little late, I know, but I wanted to do a tribute for Patrick Swayze. Patrick was one of my favorite actors and I will miss him dearly. I think he was a sincere man who genuinely cared about his family and will forever be remembered in my heart. He had a true love for others and this made him stand out from other actors. I am saddened by his death.

To me Patrick is my own personal Orry Main. Have any of you seen North and South the mini series? Well, this is where I first learned about Patrick Swayze when I was a teenager, besides Dirty Dancing of course. I would stay up in our loft above our garage watching this mini series, dreaming about one day finding my southern gentleman. I was obsessed with his accent, the way he rescued the love of his life Madeleine, and how he never gave up. Ever. Oh, and I was obsessed with his muscles. He was fit in this mini series! Ha!

I think Patrick was much the same way as his character Orry in North and South. Even though he went through a hard battle of cancer, he didn't give up. He persevered and now He has been taken from his family and fans to be in a better place.

I remember one night when I was 12 I snuck into the living room with my girlfriend {her parents were sleeping downstairs} and watched Dirty Dancing for the first time. I was hooked! I was a bad girl because I wasn't supposed to watch it but I did anyways. I thought Johnny was so hot! ;P

"Nobody puts baby in the corner."

Anyone ever watch Disney's Tall Tale? I loved Patrick in this film, it was about following your dreams and the great imagination!

Thank you Patrick for being such a strong and romantic lead man in all of my favorite films! I will forever remember you in North and South, Dirty Dancing, Tall Tale, Ghost, and all of your amazing films. You were a truly talented man who touched lives. Thank you for teaching me that perseverance can get you through life's toughest times and that I should never take life for granted. Thank you for loving with all of your heart and standing a part from the rest...may you rest in peace.

Going Back to Basics

Thank you so much for your sweet comments in regards to my 1/2 Marathon. I appreciate all of your support and for cheering me on! I couldn't have done it without you, truly! :) I hope I have encouraged some of you to try a 1/2 Marathon on your own, because, if I can do it, you can do it! Anything is possible and once you do it, it is not nearly as daunting, trust me! :)

My latest obsession? Banana Republic. This amazing store has all of the basics, and after looking at my closet the other day I am in need for some basic and lovely clothing essentials. I have waaaaay to many beach clothes, which are amazing, but, let's face it. Beach clothes are going to make me cold when fall decides to appear. Plus, it just won't cut it at work! I want to look professional.

I used to dislike this store a lot growing up. But on Saturday, when my BF was visiting, we went to South Coast Plaza and gravitated to this store. I found a plum dress for the fall time as well as a blue knitted blouse for 50% off! I was in fall heaven. Or I should say I was wistfully wishing for fall since it has been so warm here in Southern CA.

Even since Saturday I haven't stopped thinking about Banana Republic! I even gave my mom the hint that I want a gift card for my birthday. Hopefully she'll take the bait! Ha!

Here are some of my favorite picks from the dresses and tops featured on their website right now, hope you enjoy!

P.S. click here to go to Banana Republic's official site.

BR monogram flutter sleeve pleated dress

BR monogram ruffle-neck shell

Chunky sweater vest

Drop waist dress

Pintucked cowlneck dress

Puff sleeve floral blouse

Silk cap sleeve graphic top

Silk pleated dress

Silk ribbon shell

Which one is your favorite out of my selections? What type of outfits do you prefer to wear to work?

Have a wonderful day Ocean Dreamers! XO!

Disneyland 1/2 Marathon Tribute

I did it! I accomplished my second Disneyland half marathon and enjoyed every moment of it. Well...maybe not the last two miles, but it felt like whenever I was getting really tired they had something cheering me on whether it be jogging through Disneyland and seeing all of the characters, California Adventure Park, Angel's Stadium, cheerleaders, bands, and more! I decided to take some photos and stick my camera in my new pouch so I could show you all the Disney running experience.

I am a bit sore today, but not as sore as last year because I trained better for this race. I ate so much yesterday though, it was incredible! I didn't think it was possible to eat endless amount of calories and still lose weight, it is pretty amazing. It does make sense though, working out for 3 hours makes you crave the carbs!

Hope my Ocean Dreamers enjoyed the long three day weekend {for those of us in the U.S.} My internet is currently not working at my apartment, so hence I am using Big Kiddo's internet when I with him. So...hopefully I won't get too far behind on your blogs this week. There is always work {don't tell :P} but I will miss blogging at my apartment until AT&T is resolved.☹They are saying we need a new modem so hopefully that is the probelm.

This was right before the race, we were really excited.

Oops, accidentally cut off Laura but it still is a cute picture!

We managed to stop for a picture with Sleeping Beauty in Disneyland, yay!

Mile 6...almost half way there. Ignore the time, they started us late so we were doing about 35 minutes better than that time!

Around mile 8 we were able to run inside the Angel's Stadium. This didn't do this last year, just around it so I was rather excited about it! There were a ton of people inside cheering and they had misters too so it was nice to get cooled down!

Whew, three miles to go! Again, ignore the time. This is way off!

We did it, we made it to the end!!

I am so glad that I signed up for this half marathon. I have another one coming up in February called Surf City, in Huntington Beach. If you live around my area you should totally do it, it is such great exercise!

Oh, and I used to hate running. I have had to work up to running this much. At first I started out with a mile, than three miles, seven miles, and then I trained at Back Bay running a total of ten miles. For me it is not about speed, but doing something that motivates, give you confidence, and make you feel like a better and brighter you!

Because I am in the Disney mood, I wanted to also post some pictures of my favorite Disney Princesses. Hope you enjoy!

I just love ♥ Disneyland and the Disney princesses, hope you enjoyed my sappy photo montage!

What is your favorite Disney princess?
Have a wonderful Monday evening!
