Prayer Request for Dante

To see recent updates please
go to this post: Dante update!

Hi Ocean Dreamers

Do you believe in prayer?
I do with all of my heart.
I have expressed to you that
I never want to make anyone
uncomfortable on my blog,
but I am a Christian woman
and I believe in God and the power
of prayer, healing, forgiveness,
and grace that only comes from
knowing and believing in God.
So I am interrupting my scheduled program
(aka Girl's Weekend Part II)
for an urgent request.
A request to pray for this precious little boy.
His name is Dante and he is three years old.
One of my dear readers sent me an
e-mail asking me if I would share about Dante
on my blog and of course I said yes!
Her name is Rocio, here is a picture of her,
her sister Cynthia, and their oldest sister Sylvia.
Sylvia (far right) is Dante's mom.
Here are the details Rocio gave me about
Dante's cancer situation. "Currently Dante is
battling a cancer called Neuroblastoma
He started receiving chemotherapy at the
Texas Children's Hospital and he is reacting well
to his treatment, but we know his treatment is
gonna be very intense, and over a year long."
I did a bit of research on Neuroblastoma
and this is what I found out about it:
Neuroblastoma is a malignant (cancerous)
tumor that develops from nerve tissue.
It occurs in infants and children.
Click here to learn more about this cancer.
Here's Dante and his little sister Ali.
Aren't they the cutest children?
My heart goes out to Rocio and her family.

I will continue to follow up with her
and give you updates about Dante.
I pray that God holds him in His arms
as Dante goes through this time of chemo.

Let's cherish life Ocean Dreamers.
Cherish your loved ones,
pray for the hurting,
and pray for this sweet little boy
named Dante who no doubt
has the most darling twinkle
in his eyes and such an amazing
and wonderful family who
loves him so much.

Thank you!

XOXO,

  1. I was just about to comment on your "Girl's Weekend" post but something inspired me to hit refresh on your blog ... and then this showed up. I'm glad you're not ashamed of talking about your faith and I will most definitely pray for Dante and that he'll have the strength and hope and that the treatments will work. And thank you for sharing this ... it's heart-breaking but I also know prayers can work wonders.

  33. I have been praying for Dante before you asked. One of my dear coworker's son was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma over a year ago. He's been fighting the disease in Boston's Children's Hospital, and he's finishing up his treatment now. We are hoping he'll go back to having a normal life and that the cancer never, ever returns.

While my coworker is obviously very concerned about her son, she has also asked us all to pray for all of the other children fighting this disease as she has met so many of them during her son's treatment.

So, I've been praying for Dante, and I will continue to pray for Dante and all children fighting cancer... because prayer is such a powerful thing.

  34. Hi Everybody, My name is Sylvia, I'm Dante's mom. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this tremendous chain of prayers. My baby has gone through many difficult medical procedures and he has shown more strength than many of us. I want to share that the results of last week's bone scan show NO TRACES OF CANCER in his bones, not anymore!!!!, we still have to do radiation, transplant and more, but this has been a HUGE HUGE HUGE gift from our precious God. And Sierra, I have no words to thank you, I read all this and I couldn't stop crying. This is a horrendous battle, we've seen tiny newborns also fighting cancer, please, please also pray for them and their families. We've seen so many things at hospitals, I dont think I'll ever be able to recuperate from so many cruel scenes..so much pain and sadness, so many innocent kids...Please pray for Matthew, Savannah, Rodney, David, Eric, and all the sick children. God bless you Sierra, and God bless all.
