guest post by Megan - looking forward to fall

I'm currently in Montana visiting some family with my mom over Labor Day weekend so here's a guest post about the upcoming fall time by the lovely Megan. Enjoy!

Hi there friends! My name is Megan and I blog over at Mackey Madness!

I'm pumped to be over here today for Sierra. Her blog is a winner in my book. : )

I am a Southern girl, which I mostly love. I say mostly because there is a time when I wish that I didn't live down here sometimes: the summer! Y' has been at least 106 degrees down here for the past month. And there seems to be no sign of it easing up anytime soon. We are in a severe drought and the humidity is unreal.

I am NOT a summer girl. Give me cold weather any day. I was born in the winter and married in the fall...and I'd like that weather all year 'round. Unfortunately, my state doesn't cooperate with that.

I have been trying to think happy thoughts lately and I've been dreaming about fall/winter. Here's what I'm looking forward to:

1) Delicious hot chocolate.

2) Decorating...there's so many cute ideas!

3) Scarves. Ahhhh. A little piece of perfection.

4) Snow. Who am I kidding? We don't get snow, but I'm dreaming of chilly weather!

5) FOOTBALL!! (LSU Tigers all the way!)

6) The change of seasons and the beautiful colors that it brings.

7) Bonfires and roasting marshmallows.

8) Haunted houses! Y'all...I love them. #lovebeingterrified

9) All the food that is consumed during the fall and winter holidays.

10) And most importantly, our 1 year wedding anniversary!! Hooooooray!!

Are y'all summer people? Or looking forward to the weather change like me?

Thanks so much for having me, Sierra! It was fun!

Thanks so much Megan - I always love your posts and of course I love your blog! I can't wait for fall time to be here! Stay tuned for some new fall time inspired posts...

  1. Came over from Megan's blog :-)

Megan, I'm a summer person, although living in Ireland, our summers aren't great. We think it's hot if it's in the 80's!

Up until two years ago I would have agreed with you about the snow. Some winters we wouldn't get snow, or if we did, it was just a sprinkling and would be gone after a couple of hours.

Then last winter, and the winter before, things started getting an awful LOT colder. The first winter we had TWO whole weeks of snow and ice. Last winter we had a MONTH! Irish people just don't know how to cope with that kind of weather, we don't normally have snow, so the majority of people don't have snow tyres or snow chains for their cars, water pipes aren't protected, and a lot of people {including us} had no water for a few days. Last Christmas, we lost our water the Monday before Christmas, and didn't get it back until the day after. {worst Christmas ever} So...I'm dreading another winter like that, where I can't leave the house for days on end, and I have no running water.

I am looking forward to winter clothes though, although most of the clothes I wear in winter, I wear in the summer too, but I add a few layers in the winter.

  2. Wbat an adorable guest post! Megan, you are so pretty! I love that first pic and your wedding photo is gorgeous! :)

It's really funny how the grass is always greener on the other side. I grew up in Tampa and as a child, I longed to have a white Christmas. I wanted fall and winter so badly. Well, I have been living in the midwest now for ten years and I officially HATE SNOW!! Well, I hate driving in it. Snow-related accidents and damage has cost me thousands of dollars. It's beyond frustrating. And driving in it is a nightmare. Sigh. I am looking for my way back to Southern Florida as we speak. Haha!

I do love fall though. The thought of curling up with a Jane Austen novel, glass of cocoa, and watching the orange leaves fall to the ground this October makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Great post. I hope you and Sierra have an awesome weekend! xoxo

  3. Thanks so much for having me, Sierra!! Enjoy your weekend!!

  4. Awww I am so excited for this fall season. I love the decoration and drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows during. :) :D

    happy weekend!

Thanks for the comment love! Candy sends you and puppy hello (aka barky bark)!
