katniss and (k)upcakes

The Hunger Games is out today.
I wish I could see it.
But since BK isn't a fan I'm going
to have to wait until I get back to Utah to see it.
Which I'm okay with because I'll most likely drag
one of my family members to see it with me or I'll go
during the day time and have a big theater all to myself. :)

So to cure my craving to see The Hunger Games
{ which I read the entire series by the way, }
I bought some {k}upcakes today.
Yes, {k}upcakes for Katniss.
Yes, I know I'm a dork. ;)
They're really pretty with rainbow colors.
They remind me of the girl on fire who
must dress up to maintain her image and
{hopefully} win the games!
I won't spoil how it ends for those of you
who haven't read the series.

Here are some of my favorite quotes, and a
few pictures to get me in The Hunger Games mood.

“You don’t forget the face of the person who was your last hope.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
“And then he gives me a smile that just seems so genuinely sweet
with just the right touch of shyness that
unexpected warmth rushes through me.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

“One more time? For the audience?" he says.
His voice isn't angry.
It's hollow, which is worse.
Already the boy with the bread is slipping away from me.
I take his hand, holding on tightly, preparing for the cameras,
and dreading the moment when I will finally have to let go.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
“And while I was talking, the idea of actually losing Peeta
hit me again and I realized how much I don't want him to die.
And it's not about the sponsors. And it's not about what
will happen when we get home. And it's not just
that I don't want to be alone.
It's him. I do not want to lose the boy with the bread.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games

“Because when he sings...even the birds stop to listen.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
“I want to do something, right here, right now,
to shame them, to make them accountable,
to show the Capitol that whatever they do or
force us to do there is a part of every tribute they can't own.
That Rue was more than a piece in their Games.
And so am I.”
Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games
So have you seen The Hunger Games yet?
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

{even though I haven't seen it yet, lol!}
I'm going to enjoy reading about Katniss and
eating my {k}upcakes for now until I make it
to the theater to find out what I think of this film!

P.S. I'll be back in UT in a few days so I'll reveal
who the winner is of my Juicy Couture giveaway then!
Thanks for your patience. :)

  1. You are NOT a dork! :) Just saying.
And I haven't seen it yet and even though I really really want to see it, I might not be able to. And if, I just go by myself. :(

  5. Ohhhhh that cupcake is not only sooo pretty but looks amazingly delicious. I'm feeling faint just looking at it! lol

I haven't read the series yet. I've been waiting too long to get it from the library. And I don't want to see the film unless I read the books first. Sigh.
