5 great ways to keep your skin healthy for the fall - guest post by Marcela

Use a gentle exfoliating product on a weekly basis to help you get rid of dead skin, especially at the beginning of fall. Your skin tends to dry out in the summer when the weather is warm, so you’ll want to get rid of dry skin as quickly as possible so you can start with a new, well-hydrated surface. This is a particularly important first step – before you do anything else, you’ll want to exfoliate.

If you live in an area that’s particularly cold, with dry air, you’ll need to moisturize in the morning and evening if you have dry to normal skin. For those with oily skin, once per day is probably enough. If you’ve found a great year-round moisturizer that works well for your skin, stick with that. If you’re in the market for a new one, look for a hydrating serum or more concentrated formula to combat winter dryness, which can leave your skin looking ruddy and dull.
Don’t Forget the Sunscreen

Just because the sun isn’t out doesn’t mean you won’t get sunburned or your skin won’t be exposed to potentially harmful UVA and UVB rays. You may not need the highest SPF rating you can find in the fall and winter months, but wearing a basic SPF 15 sunscreen when you’re going to be outside for more than a few minutes is a smart idea. If you want to keep your skin care routine simple, look for a quality moisturizer with an SPF rating of 15 or higher.
Try Skin Whitening Products
If you’re like many women, you may notice some sun spots on your face similar to freckles after the summer months have passed. Lightening creams Skintrium’s Esthetic Blend Suntan Removal Cream can help to get rid of those little spots and restore your even skin tone. Visit a Professional

Don’t stop getting professional treatments like facials and laser hair removal just because summer is over. In fact, despite what many women believe, the fall and winter months are the best time to get many of these treatments, as prolonged sun exposure, which is common in the summer, can cause irritation after certain types of treatments and procedures. Laser hair removal treatment benefits most from fall or winter scheduling since it’s best to avoid the procedure when your skin is tanned, making hair follicles more difficult to see against your skin.

  2. Love tips like that. And it is vital to use sunscreen throughout the year...even when you go skiing. Lots of people forget that part. :(
