the perfect style of the perfect dress - sponsored post

The style is actually the structure and fitting of the wedding dress. Different components of a wedding dress structure such as the silhouette, the sleeves, the bodice, the neckline and the train should be planned well before dress itself is made. You can make your dress in a vintage styled pattern. If you already have your mother's or grandmother's wedding dress that you really admire, you can add a few small alterations in it, so it would look more apt for you and wear the same for your own wedding. It will especially work perfectly for your upcoming beach wedding theme.

Another option for you is choosing right one out of the party gowns that are readily available. This variant is suitable for those brides who are doubtful or have not yet decided on the style of their wedding gown.

A question of what kind of a dress should a bride wear at her wedding bothers many women keeps them you sleepless at night. Most of the bridal stores and designers nowadays offer dresses which resemble Hollywood romance, though the number of hardly-blushing brides are also steadily increasing day by day.

Still, you, just like any other bride, need something that will reflect your own personality. If you have no other choice except for wearing your mother’s wedding dress, you can freely  shorten it and thus make it more chic. For that, choose any off-the-rack dress that sits well on your figure and presents you in the best possible way. If you wish to be totally different, then you forget about dresses at all and instead choose a pantsuit in beige or cream color with some bright stylish accessories. The very scope is to celebrate your sacred uniting with your beloved person in mot comfortable way for you.

But apart from the dress pattern, you can also experiment with the tissue of your dress. Thus, you can appear at the altar in a feathery dress and enjoy the surprised reaction of your guests. Moreover, you will “kill” everyone in an outfit like a metallic dress which shimmers. Just in that same way, such fabric as toile looks very elegant on any woman who wishes to celebrate her greatest day in an anti-bride style and at the same time look within the boundaries of traditional customs.

just another girl crush - Emily VanCamp

I have a girl crush on Emily VanCamp. She's just so cute (I'm jealous because she has perfectly pointed angel lips) and I love her acting and style! As you know I've been watching Everwood, which she starred in during its four season run and she's great in it. I'm looking forward to watching her transform from a girl into a woman throughout the show since she seems like such a young actress during season one on Everwood (the season I'm currently watching). I mean, just check out this transformation - from girl to woman! She's just as gorgeous through the years, however.

I also love her in Revenge. That's actually how I first learned about her and then realized that she played in Everwood as well. Her character that she plays in Revenge definitely shows how far she's come as an actress - she's very skilled and intense! Her character is also very complex and out to seek revenge (as we all know) - and she does it quite well! Oh and random, but I just want her to get with Jack already {even though Josh Bowman is might fine too and I think they are together in real life}! Anyway, here are some pics of Miss VanCamp - she's just too gorgeous not to show her off on this blog post. ;)

Do you like Emily VanCamp and have you watched Everwood or Revenge?

I have this thing for The Nightmare Before Christmas

With Halloween on its way I find myself start thinking about what I like most about Halloween and mainly one thing comes to mind: The Nightmare Before Christmas. Yes, some people watch this movie during Christmas (umm why?!) but I consider this movie a Halloween movie through and through.
The Nightmare Before Christmas is very creepy and fun. Tim Burton never disappoints and he even threw in a cute love story between Jack and Sally! Plus, the songs always get stuck in my head. The only thing I don't like about the movie is Mr. Oogy Boogy man. Creepy! I always have to fast forward that part when the worms explode out of him or at least close my eyes. Jack is such a cool character though. Love his voice too - it's just a great Halloween movie to watch! :)
So I went Nightmare Before Christmas hunting on Pinterest and here are some cool pics that I am enjoying. So relax and enjoy the show! ;) {P.S. click on each pic to head to its source on Pinterest!}

They're simply meant to be! ;) I definitely will be watching The Nightmare Before Christmas come Halloween time {a little over a week!}Will you? Are you a fan as well?

how to remove acne scars - guest post by Damon

Having a zit is bad enough, but no one should have to suffer from acne scars years after the acne is long gone! Luckily there are ways to remove acne scars and get your skin back to its former glory.

Red or brown acne marks that are left behind after a pimple (also known as macules) will usually fade with no need for treatment. To encourage skin renewal, try skin treatments with retinoids (prescription Retin-A or over the counter creams with retinol), hydroquinone, kojic acid, glycolic acid or lactic acid.

Be careful with hydroquinone if you have a darker skin tone because some dark skin tones can have a (rare) reactive darkening. For darker skin tones, try one of the other options. For severe marks, try dermabrasion or chemical peels to remove the top, discolored layers of skin.

Deep, pitted acne scars can take two forms: scars with a gradual dip or depression or scars that are deep and narrow. These acne scars are called ice-pick scars, depressed fibrotic scars, soft scars, atrophic macules, or follicule macular atrophy.

For deep acne scars, try laser resurfacing. Laser Skin Resurfacing is a cosmetic laser procedure that, when performed in the hands of the proper licensed medical professional, can have amazing results beginning with the very first treatment. Laser resurfacing uses high-energy light to remove damaged and discolored skin. Laser resurfacing may also be used to minimize wrinkles and fine lines.

Be realistic with your expectations, and explore your options with your doctor or skin care professional.

Guest post by Damon Scordo, General Manager of South Coast MedSpa (SCMS), a worldwide leader in laser skin resurfacing treatment for all skin types. SCMS is proud to announce the grand opening of its 4th location in San Diego. SCMS offers San Diego skin resurfacing, San Diego skin rejuvenation and San Diego acne scar removal for dark skin as well as light skin tones. SCMS also has locations in Los Angeles and Orange County.

the smart way to shop online - guest post by Sophie Hill

The flexibility that online shopping offers nowadays is unquestionable, you can shop at any place and at any time, the worldwide stores of the internet never close, which is quite useful if you are a busy person and have little time for shopping. One of the main reasons why I prefer online shopping is because it saves time and money and I can do it in the comfort and privacy of my home. I buy everything online: my clothes, my glasses, my shoes, I follow the latest fashion trends online!

If I need something, no matter where I am - at work, at home or walking on the street, I prefer to go to my favorite online shop via phone and add that desired product to the wishlist and buy it later, rather than running from store to store. And also I get discounts, free delivery and free returns in many cases. For example a couple of days ago I ordered two pairs of lovely jeans online, but when I received them, I realized that I don't need the second pair and returned it easily because it was a store that does free returns. There are still people who don't prefer online shopping, I really don't understand them, online stores have larger collections than offline stores and they help you to find desired product very fast in one place.

Online shopping for clothes is easy, but you should try to shop clothes online the smart way. Selecting the right website is an important factor of smart online shopping, because there are a lot of online e-commerce websites but only few are quality websites that offer huge discounts. To get the best price you should compare prices between different stores and it's easier when they are all in one place.

The other key point to do smart fashion shopping is to follow the trends. For your ease there are sites like fashionfinder.asos.com, where people are talking about fashion and sharing different outfit ideas and combos, from all over the world. With all these benefits of online shopping and a lot of brands and stores available online now, it is a little bit difficult to follow all of them separately. That's why there are websites that  that do it for you like shopstyle.com and loopos.co.uk.

Tips for fashion trends by experts are also available in fashion blogs, as you know great wardrobe starts with an initial inspiration - for more style inspiration there are plenty of fashion blogs to follow. For example here you can find the 99 most influential fashion blogs, when reading them you can be sure to stay in touch with the season’s trends. Also fashion blogs will help you to learn how to dress well on less and how to try new things to look great.

At loopos.co.uk you can follow all your favorite brands in one place and find a list with products only at sale. Also it is a great place to find bargains for you and your family. A complete range of fashion items like clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women and kids, allow you to shop for everything you need and more easily.

You can sign up for a weekly fashion sale alert to have discounts delivered to your inbox or follow them on Facebook and Pinterest, like I do. If you want to find the best items on sale and get them before they sell out, my advice is to check new arrivals daily. Also there is a offers section, with a huge selection of the latest fashion voucher codes, style offers, student discount codes and best promotions from stores like Urban Outfitters, Zalando, Boohoo, Debenhams, Very, Dorothy Perkins and many more of their retailer partners.

You can make big savings with these coupon codes and promos when shopping online. For example if you shop at Urban Outfitters now you'll get 10% OFF on all UK orders, entering the given discount code at checkout + free delivery all month long! For me shopping online is much more attractive than going out to the mall, because everything is literally at my fingertips. Hope the listed points will help you to become a smarter online shopper!

the most creative wedding proposals ever - guest post by Samuel Kleinberg

Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event. Hopefully you’ll be remembering it for the rest of your life.  This is why when you ask for someone’s hand in marriage, it needs to be special. Some people though… take to a bit of an extreme.

The following is a list of some of the most extreme or creative wedding proposals that can be found online. This is only a small sampling though, who knows the amount of creative and unique proposals out there that never make it to YouTube.

The Movie Trailer

One husband to be decided that he would take his girlfriend to the place of their second date to pop the question. This place was a movie theater and he did a little bit more than just drop to one knee and pop the question.

The man hired a director to make a ‘trailer’ where he raced to the movie theater. He then somehow got the theater to play this trailer before a movie where he was with his girlfriend. The trailer was slick and high energy.

The Halo Proposal

The subject of our next creative proposal was a long time gamer as was his girlfriend. Since they both loved playing the game ‘Halo 3’ so much he decided to propose in game. Using a custom map editor he created a map just for the two of them that featured the words ‘Marry Me?’

Disneyland Flash Mob

On June 6th, 2009 a young woman entered Disneyland with her long time boyfriend. They had a bunch of fun going on rides and remembering what the place was like as kids. All in all it was a great date. What the woman did not expect was that the boyfriend had been planning this day for quite some time.

Suddenly, near the end of their day the man pulled out a bullhorn and started making a big announcement to the crowd around them. He told the woman about how much he loved her and she knew what was coming as he got down on one knee.

But then some woman started singing, and then a cleaning person and then a woman in a wheelchair. Soon it was a full blown Disney musical. He then finally got back on his knee and proposed to her.

Fake Death

Men have a long history of doing dangerous things to win the heart of a woman, but jumping off a building is a bit much. That is what one man did and he got the whole experience filmed for YouTube.

During a roof top party with a bunch of friends the husband to be got up on a ledge, holding a beer, and began a speech about how much he loved his girlfriend. He then asked for something to be tossed to him. While trying to catch it he lost his balance and fell to what looked like his doom. In reality he had a giant airbag set up with ‘Will you Marry Me?” written around it so when his girlfriend ran to the ledge to look for him she would see it.

make a moisturizing hair pact - guest post by Marcela

Fall’s approaching and it’s time to switch your beauty routine.  Below we will share our top 5 beauty tips to help you look fabulous this fall.

Even if you don’t realize it, chances are your hair is pretty dry after summer passes, especially if you spend a lot of time in the hot sun. Making a moisturizing pack out of ingredients you may already have at home can give your hair extra moisture, making it look thicker and healthier while potentially boosting hair growth. To make your own moisturizing hair pack, combine 1 mashed avocado and one tablespoon of mayonnaise in a small bowl. Gently massage the mixture onto your scalp and hair and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Rinse the moisturizing pack out with warm water after 15 minutes and allow your hair to dry naturally.

Don’t Shampoo So Much
In the summer, shampooing your hair every day or every other day can be beneficial because you’re likely sweating a lot, even if you don’t feel it. However, when the weather cools down, you don’t want to shampoo your hair too much because too much washing can dry your hair out, leaving your hair looking dull and lifeless. If your hair is starting to look lifeless and dull, consider trying out products to help revitalize, such as vitamins for hair growth.  Try to shampoo your hair every 3 to 4 days or after exercise in the fall and winter months to keep your hair looking its best.
Use a Leave-In Conditioner
During the summer, a leave-in conditioner isn’t really necessary. However, when fall comes, so does the cool air and low temperatures that cause dryness. A leave-in conditioner will help to protect your hair from the elements. If you have particularly dry hair, look for a cream-based leave-in conditioner. If you have normal to oily hair, a cream based conditioner could be too heavy. Instead, look for a lighter leave-in conditioner made with shea butter. Using a leave-in conditioner about once per week should be enough to keep your hair looking healthy.
Eat for Beauty
Having healthy skin and hair requires more than just using the right products. You need to eat right too. Foods that contain omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, tuna and nuts promote healthy hair growth and skin. Eating a little bit of lean red meat – about one serving per week – can also keep help improve hair growth, as well as healthy nails and teeth. If you can’t change your diet, omega-3 and iron supplements can be beneficial as well.
Don’t Forget the Antioxidants
Most people think of food when they think of antioxidants, and while foods like berries are an excellent source of antioxidants, there are other ways to incorporate them into your diet and hair care routine. Green tea in particular can be used as part of a cleansing rinse for your hair to help promote a healthy scalp and optimal hair growth. Of course, you can still drink your green tea too, but using it topically has its benefits as well. Just keep the sugar, honey and lemon juice out of your tea if you choose to use it on your hair!

heads up on men’s CK spring & summer ’13 collection - guest post by Christina

If classic casual wear from one of the world’s biggest ready-to-wear brands is your thing, then we bet you’re a die-hard Calvin Klein fanatic. And, like any self-respecting fan, you simply can’t brace yourself for this year’s colder season without knowing what you should look forward to, come spring and summer. We took a second look at the Calvin Klein spring/summer 2013 collection, which hit the runways at the Milan Fashion Week in late June, in order to give you a bit of a heads up in what’s coming your way early next year.
In terms of overall styles, it seems that the brand’s creative director, Italo Zuccheli, is playing it just as classic as one would expect from Calvin Klein. Classic, yet in no way dull, since the latest CK menswear collection is a nod to Italo-American pop culture and street fashion, starting from the 1950s and going all the way into the late eighties and early nineties. There’s more than just a smack of James Dean in a collection that prominently features denim in most typed of wash and colors. There’s also a distinctly late-punk flair to the collection, brought up by the selection of impeccable pitch-black leather biker jackets. Zuccheli also threw in some street culture into the mix, by coordinating most outfits with double-Velcro sports shoes, or their more elegant cousins, with the same closing mechanism, but decked out in black leather.

The posh end of the collection was highly innovative in terms of accessorizing and details. All- black suit outfits were matched up with Wayfarer-shaped sunglasses with pops of color for the frames, and most models had their hair slicked back with Vaseline, in true James Dean style. One couldn’t help but notice some of the blazers and trousers had a shimmer to the fabric, but Zuccheli had enough foresight as to keep it low-key. Another patterning surprise was provided by the Hawaiian shirts and t-shirts with floral appliques, for a sporty-summerish look.

The color range was entirely Calvin Klein, from one end of the collection to the other. Denim blues and darker hues of navy were matched and often mismatched on purpose with black denim. There were plenty of coats, jackets, blazers, and shirts in off-white or creamy beige, while the suit part of the collection was mostly about greys and powder blues. All in all, the spring/summer 2013 Calvin Klein collection is not a massive departure from what the brand has gotten us used to, yet it’s got enough innovation to warrant massive staying power come next year.

best (and worst) cities for your skin!

I'm always concerned about my skin. Are you? Did you know that where you live effects your skin? Daily Glow contacted me about their info-graphic and it mentions all of the states that are great (and bad) for your skin. It seems like I live in an area that isn't that great for my skin, yikes! {aka Los Angeles and occasionally Phoenix, AZ}. I wonder if because I live more near the ocean that it is better?? Also - I'm thinking that BK and I need to move to Northern CA near San Francisco, stat! I'm aging by the second, lol!
Where do you live and how does your city and state effect your skin?

We better focus on quality skin care to make up for the lack of skincare we are receiving in select cities and states!

Head over to Daily Glow's website to read more about their findings.

*I was not paid for this post.
This is simply me posting something I find interesting after being contacted by Daily Glow!

Anastasia Beverly Hills kisses on my list & want you to want me kit review!

I loooove makeup. Let me repeat. I loooove makeup. But who doesn't?! Anastasia Beverly Hills represented their product so well in their e-mail to me that I'm using their wording to introduce the product I was able to try out before I head into the review.

"Feast your beautiful eyes on Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Want You to Want Me kit and their Kisses on My List (Volume 2) lip gloss set. Both of these items are new for 2012 and are like tinsel for your eyes and lips!"

Anastasia Beverly Hills never ceases to amaze me with their beautiful packaging and yummy makeup that is full of color and personality. The picture below is a part of the paper album that they sent me in addition to the kits, to replicate a 70's old record. I loved their packaging and their was even a paper record inside!
I loved both the lip gloss and the eye shadow that they sent. Both have beautiful colors - see below for the lip gloss, which looks so pretty in different lighting so I decided to show you both (the same lip gloss but different shots taken with the flash and then without.)
Here's a picture of how the eye shadow looks from the Want You to Want Me kit looks - super pretty for the fall and winter time!
I love Anastasia Beverly Hills beauty products because they are so pretty and glam! The eye shadow is very easy to apply and the lip color from the Kisses on My List gloss set goes on smoothly and looks very vibrant and beautiful. I can't wait to wear the gloss, eye shadow, and more this fall and winter time.

Here's more info about both of the kits, in the words of Anastasia Beverly Hills. I also took pictures of the kits so you could see them up close!

"The Want You to Want Me is a kit within a clutch…a nod to the glam and decadence of the 1970’s. This set includes a deluxe eye shadow palette featuring an array of 70’s rock inspired shades for a beautiful holiday look. The mirrored compact with brush features nine matte and pearly nude and plum shadows, Liquid Eye Liner, and Mini Clear Brow Gel to turn your eyes into a velvet goldmine. With shadow tints like Power Ballad, Jellies, Platform Wedge, and Ziggy…how can you go wrong! Toss this gorgeous palette in your clutch for touch-ups wherever your night takes you."
"The Kisses on My List gloss set features six high-shine glosses in matte and shimmer shades that wear all-day.  With three softly sheer, opalescent glosses, and three new Hypercolor Glosses that actually stain your lips…don’t be standing too close to the mistletoe if you don’t want to be kissed!  Each gloss is named after famous 70’s muses you won’t soon forget. Lola, Maggie May, Sharona, Roxanne, Jolene, and Moi are sure to inspire your loved one to write a song about you!"

Marc Anthony dry shampoo and beach spray review!

Recently I had the chance to review some awesome products! Marc Anthony sent me out their Dream Waves Beach Spray and 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo and both are excellent products. Plus - they both are extremely affordable. I was impressed by the packaging, but more than that, I was impressed by the product. Let's start with my review of the Beach Spray first.
The Dream Waves Beach Spray is a great spray that isn't sticky and creates lightweight and luscious curls. I loved how easily it sprayed on my hair and I loved the after effects even more! I didn't take a picture of my curls the day I sprayed it in my hair, so I used a photo from a while back that's very similar to how my hair turned out. I think this would be a great product to use when I head back to sunny CA and I'm enjoying the beautiful beach.
So if you're looking for lightweight and breezy curls this is a great spray for you. ;) Now on to the Dry Shampoo...
The 2nd Day Clear Dry Shampoo is another great product from Marc Anthony! I thought I would spare you a picture of my greasy hair, but just know that it works well! Unlike other dry shampoos this this product does not have "color" in it, which means the color doesn't get all over your hands when you're rubbing it into your hair so that it absorbs all of the oil. In the past I have purchased dry shampoos that have a "blonde color" and it's supposed to make your hair blonder, which I don't like! In fact, it makes my hair look gross and fake, so this was a nice switch.

The Dry Shampoo is also easy to spray (you should spray a good distance away from your tresses so that you don't get too much of the liquid on your hair) and afterwards you should leave it in for a few minutes before styling your hair to give it time to absorb the oils. Usually I spray it in my hair and follow it up with using my hands to evenly distribute the product by gently rubbing on my hair where it is oily. I also brush my hair thoroughly after rubbing it in, in case some of the product decides to stay put as opposed to doing its job. ;)

Marc Anthony products are available at: Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Duane Reade, Ulta.com, Drugstore.com and other retailers. Suggested retail prices $7.99 - $8.99.
