Recycle your wardrobe
If you’ve been wearing the same tracksuit, jeans and tops for a while now, it might be time to hit the shops, but you don’t have to spend a fortune. Revive some of your old wardrobe staples to create a brand new look for this season. Bermuda shorts, retro dresses and over-sized jackets are bang on trend, as are bright fabrics, beaded materials and sheer tops. If you’re not sure where to start, sporty frocks suit athletic women, whereas the peekaboo designs show off curves in style. Chunky beads and statement handbags are also a must-have this year, so don’t forget to accessorize!
Refresh your makeup
It has been a long, cold winter so far, but spring is the perfect time to brighten things up. Vibrant cosmetics went down a storm during the Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Week, so refresh your makeup bag and revitalize your style. Bright red lipstick proved a hit with Burberry, Prada, Missoni and Oscar de la Renta on the catwalks, so instead of buying new why not re-use that old favorite scarlet number from last year. Green and blue eye shadows were also prominent and were finished off nicely with thick eyeliner and liberal amounts of mascara. If standout shades aren't your thing, subtle foundations and peachy blushers were also used by Dolce & Gabbana, so learn how to achieve the natural look.
Make the most of your hair
If you don’t have a team of hair stylists at the ready – fear not! This season is all about simple, chic looks, so have a go at the knotted pony tail, create rock and roll waves using your hair straighteners or simply plait your locks into numerous braids. Finish with blossoming flowers, over-sized beads, sporty hairbands or silky bandannas and you’ll be ready for the season ahead. If you’re trying out one of the retro dresses available this year, old-fashioned hair scarves with checks, stripes or spots could also perfect your look, so don’t be afraid to experiment.
Spring is a great time to try out a wide range of styles, so revitalize your image and feel fabulous throughout the warmer months.
